My wife and I will be meeting our landscape designer from DeYoung Landscape next week to discuss three different base plans for our master landscape plan. The key to each plan is the positioning of the new garage. Placement of the garage is a bit tricky taking into consideration the city codes involving setbacks, curbcuts, and percentage of our lot that the home can cover. Our landscape guy has taken it upon himself to do the research for these items – working with city officials and certified builders to find the answers and build his design around those answers. We had a great talk with him a few weeks ago and I felt as though he really understood what we were looking to accomplish with this design.
The lack of garage has always been a sticking point for us and should be end up selling the house, naturally, it will be a barrier for anyone looking to buy it. So whether we decide to move forward with investing the large sum necessary to build a garage or put the house up for sale, the cost of the landscape plan will be money well spent.
I’ll post the base plans we have to choose from late next week.
