		<description>Regarding Wendy Bounds&#039; eco-friendly new kitchen--I live in the same area she does, Westchester/the Hudson Valley, in New York.  In this area, $83,000 is honestly a bargain basement price for a full kitchen renovation on this scale, especially when you include things like custom made windows in odd shapes, which were shown in the clip.  Materials are more expensive here than in other parts of the country, and labor is *vastly* more expensive.  Not only that, but $83K represents only about 5% of the value of the average house here, which is somewhere around $1.5M.  General home-renovation wisdom dictates a much larger percentage as &quot;appropriate&quot; for a kitchen reno.  So my point is, if we could somehow pull off a brand new gut-renovated, all-custom kitchen for that amount of money, we&#039;d be thrilled!!</description>
